City Center Market coming to Isanti

City Center Market will be opening a Café in Isanti on the west end of the WillowBridge Center building. They stated at tonight’s Council meeting that they intend to serve food, coffee, ice cream, wine, beer and much more. They will create approximately 11 news jobs. This will be another great addition to our Community with more to come. We have worked on this for several months and I am happy it can now be made public. We have more in the pipeline and I look to …

When Country Calls

My Grandfather sent these words to my Grandmother in 1917 as America was preparing to fight in World War One. After the war they started a family together. They had 14 children, 11 boys and 3 girls. We must honor our soldiers and their families each and every day.

A poem written by Ted Wimmer to Agnes
When Country Calls

***
I feel so very lonesome tonight
I don’t know what to do
I feel so blue and downhearted right
So I’ll write a few lines to you.

I was dreaming of the days …

Future City

I will be at Isanti Middle School giving a presentation on City government and what it takes to design, develop and run a city. The year round middle school is competing in the Future City contest. The ideas can range from rural town settings to futuristic Sci-Fi inspired metropolises. This is a great way for students to learn how a city is designed, developed and operated. They are also introduced to the many fields of study from engineering, planning, economic development, parks administration and so on …

Jeff Duncan Endorses Mayor Wimmer for Reelection

Jeff Duncan Endorses Mayor Wimmer for Reelection

Under the strong financial leadership of Mayor Wimmer, Isanti has reduced it’s debt per capita from $2,500 to $485, and improved the cities bond rating from A to AA, and restructured the city budget to insulate the citizens from the unpredictable state funding changes. I fully support his strong financial leadership and believe it needs to continue.”

Mayor Wimmer has done an excellent job leading Isanti through some of the toughest economic times we have faced as a nation. He always responds to questions and is open to new ideas that will make our City better. I support George because he is the right person for the job.

Onalee Canfield Endorses Mayor Wimmer for Reelection

Onalee Canfield Endorses Mayor Wimmer for Reelection

George Wimmer is my mayor, and I give him my highest recommendation for reelection. During George’s tenure as Isanti’s mayor, he has worked to keep our city property taxes at a reasonable rate. George has maintained a transparent local government through his Wimmer’s Rhetoric blog, Isantian Newsletter column, and his Mayor George Wimmer Facebook page.

Whenever I have had a question to ask George, he has always promptly replied. Whether or not I have agreed with the answer, I am pleased with his quick response and …

Patrick McNamara Endorses Mayor Wimmer for Reelection

Patrick McNamara Endorses Mayor Wimmer for Reelection

During your terms as Mayor, the city has seen a better credit rating, lower debt, solid financial planning, and great leadership. I would also add that you have been very responsive. When we needed a light in the park, it happened quickly. When we had a dry drainage pond backing up, you came out in person. Thank you, the city will be better if you win.
