About George

I grew up in a small town the youngest in a family of eight. I had six older brothers--yes six--and one older sister. We were as they say today economically challenged. My mother was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis shortly after I was born and my father suffered a severe stroke in the late 70s making full-time employment difficult.

At the age of 15, my father was unable to care for me and my incredible sister and her family opened their home to me. My mother succumbed shortly afterward to the ravages of M.S. When I was 16, I underwent the first of four successful brain operations, despite suffering a stroke and complete paralysis on my right side. With months of intensive physical and occupational therapy along with a positive outlook, I was able to fully recover.

I believe all challenges can be met and conquered. I will bring the same drive to reforming Isanti.

My wife Kay and I moved to Isanti in the summer of 2001.

We welcomed Alexander in August 2002 and Abigail in December of 2004.

I am an avid history reader with special appreciation for Sir Winston Churchill and President Theodore Roosevelt. I enjoy canoeing, hiking and sailing. My family uses the numerous City parks and trails.

I believe service is important and I have been dedicated to serving the Community.
